Jack Glass has been guiding on the Columbia and Sandy rivers
full time for over 20 years and is a steward of the waters he fishs. He started fishing northwest Oregon rivers at age 8,
and began professionally guiding in May of 1983 under the name Hook-up
Guide Service.In 2005 Jack teamed up with his
son Brandon and renamed his business Team Hook-up Guide Service.
Their level of professionalism and expertise, combined with
their knowledge of local fisheries, provides clients with fun, memorable and
highly successful trips. Jack and Brandon welcome anglers of all skill levels, beginner to expert, and can also
accommodate moderately disabled clients as well.
Jack remains closely involved with lobbying for the sport fishing industry and
has visited Washington DC in support Columbia River salmon. He has also made
numerous trips to Oregon's Capital in Salem, to meet with State Legislators to
discuss various salmon and sport fishing related issues that have faced northwest
anglers.

Jack and his wife Shelly, opened Jack's Snack 'N Tackle Shop in
Troutdale, Oregon on April 18, 1998. Located on the banks of
the Sandy River it remains the only drive thru Bait &

fishing.
In his ongoing efforts to improve fisheries for Northwest anglers Jack
has recently added an additional title. He is now an affical board member on
the Oregon Department of Fish
and Wildlife's Fisheries Restoration Enhancement Program (R & E).

On June 29, 1989, the Oregon Fisheries Restoration and
Enhancement Act of 1989 was signed into law. The Act allows the Department
of Fish and Wildlife to undertake a comprehensive program to restore
state-owned fish hatcheries, enhance natural fish production, expand
hatchery production, and provide additional public access to fishing waters.
The Department's program provides increased recreational
fishing opportunities and supports and improves the commercial salmon
fishery.

| Fisherman's Rally September
8, 2004 Jack said the event was
truly a historical one and he thought the turn out was good. Many
professional anglers like Glass canceled trips for the day, sacrificing
thousands of dollars in business in order to participate in the rally
and show the state that Salmon Mean Business.
Many guides like Glass, all agreed, in the long run it will be worth it.
